Journalists-Turned-Authors on the Rise

Former reporters are making their mark as authors this week. British journalist Sonia Purnell’s biography Kingmaker explores the complex life of political activist and socialite Pamela Harriman.

Pamela Harriman, remembered as Winston Churchill’s daughter-in-law, was also an astute diplomat and highly ambitious woman.

Music journalist and filmmaker Cameron Crowe steps into the literary scene with his memoir The Uncool, reflecting on his youth in Palm Springs and time on tour with legends like Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin. Crowe’s story partly inspired the 2000 film Almost Famous.
