Channel 10 is reviving the classic spirit of Big Brother, promising that the new season will recapture the early 2000s vibe. The show’s new host, Mel Tracina, has addressed the question fans have been eager to ask: will there be an adults-only version?
The famous house has returned to its original home at Dreamworld, where the first 11 seasons were filmed between 2001 and 2014.
“The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right,” said host Mel Tracina.
Tracina, a Nova radio presenter, noted that the show is returning to its roots with live nominations and live evictions. Fans curious about the raunchy editions from the early years were quick to wonder if Big Brother Uncut might also make a return.
“This year there’s no return of Big Brother Up Late (or Uncut),” Tracina clarified. “We’re keeping it PG.”
Viewers will still be able to follow all the house drama through a 24/7 live stream, though Tracina emphasized that the feed would be monitored carefully.
“Again, that will be moderated to make sure that everything we broadcast is up to broadcast standards,” she added.
The announcement may disappoint many Gen X and Millennial fans who remember secretly watching the late-night version, hoping for scandal or unfiltered moments.
Mel Tracina confirms the new season of Big Brother keeps its early-2000s charm but rules out the return of the adults-only Uncut edition, maintaining a PG format.
