Tiffany Haddish and Asante Blackk star together in the new sci-fi drama Landscape With Invisible Hand, which premieres in theaters on August 18. The film is adapted from the novel by M.T. Anderson.
Years after a peaceful alien occupation of Earth, humanity struggles to adapt to a new world dominated by small, peculiar overlords known as the Vuvv. These aliens introduced advanced technology that initially promised global prosperity but ultimately made most human jobs and steady income obsolete.
Seventeen-year-old artist Adam Campbell (Asante Blackk) and his new girlfriend Chloe Marsh (Kylie Rogers) realize that the Vuvv are deeply intrigued by human love and are willing to pay for access to it. To earn extra money for their families, the couple begins livestreaming their romance.
Things go well for a time, but when their teenage relationship fades, they face difficult and absurd choices to support their loved ones.
"Life is good, for a while, until the flame of their teenage love fizzles out and they’re forced to make very different, absurdly life-altering sacrifices for their families."
Author’s Summary: The film explores how a benevolent alien presence disrupts human life and relationships, forcing unlikely sacrifices amid a changing world.
