Star’s Fame Confession: ‘A Lot Has Changed’

There’s a gripping mystery and a flame-haired Australian actress, but Dakota Fanning notices clear differences between her new whodunit All Her Fault and last year’s popular show The Perfect Couple.

Having worked with Nicole Kidman, Dakota shares insights about filming her latest Hollywood project down under and reflects on growing up in the spotlight.

“There’s no dance,” she laughs about the frequently imitated flash mob scene from the 2024 Netflix series featuring Nicole Kidman.

“There were more laughs in The Perfect Couple. I think All Her Fault leans more into the thriller side. But we’ve all learned that viewers really love unraveling mysteries and guessing who’s involved. That’s what brings an audience together.”

In All Her Fault, Dakota stars alongside Sarah Snook, an actress she has long admired after watching her acclaimed role in Succession.

“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing,” Dakota says of the South Australian native. “She’s a talented actor and a grounded, fun person to be with.”

She adds that since Sarah had a busy schedule, they didn’t socialize much off set.

“I think it was important for her to recharge, refuel, and spend time with her family.”

Based on Andrea Mara’s novel, the eight-part series features Snook as Marissa Irvine, a distraught mother whose child goes missing during a playdate.

Author’s summary: Dakota Fanning highlights how All Her Fault shifts towards darker thrills and celebrates the unifying power of mystery storytelling.
