ANZ chief executive Nuno Matos has unveiled a five-year strategy to "get back to basics" and improve its underperforming retail business in Australia.
While the New Zealand operations were performing well, the core Australian businesses were behind the competition.
Despite this, ANZ shares have increased by over 20% since Matos began his tenure in July.
