Cameron Norrie Surpasses Jack Draper's 2025 British Record
Cameron Norrie began his Metz Open campaign on Monday with a hard-fought victory over French player Valentin Royer. The Brit defeated Royer 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, marking his 31st ATP Tour win of 2025.
Earlier in the year, Norrie impressed with a stunning win against Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Masters, earning a supportive message from the Spanish player. However, Norrie later lost to Shanghai Masters champion Valentin Vacherot, who exited the Metz Open in the quarter-finals.
Jack Draper's Challenging Year
Jack Draper started 2025 strong, rising to world number four in June after winning Indian Wells and reaching the Madrid Open final. Despite his early success, Draper has since dropped to world number 11 due to injuries.
The 23-year-old missed several months between Wimbledon and the US Open because of a left arm injury. This injury also forced Draper to withdraw from the US Open and the remainder of the ATP Tour season. Draper's last victory of 2025 was against Federico Gomez in the US Open first round, bringing his total ATP Tour wins for the year to 30.
