Comedian Alan Carr has flown to Orlando, Florida, ahead of the Celebrity Traitors final, joking that he is now the “most hated man in the UK.” The 49-year-old performer is one of two Traitors left in the BBC hit series alongside singer Cat Burns, 25. Carr’s sharp humor and cheerful attitude have made him a viral sensation on social media.
During an interview with Heart radio presenters Olly Murs and Mark Wright, Carr explained that he needed a break from the backlash he has been facing. His close friend Paloma Faith reportedly expressed disappointment with some of his on-screen behavior.
“I'm the most hated man in the UK, I've had to come here to Orlando to get away from it. Everyone hates me!”
The Chatty Man star continued, joking about the stress of playing his role on the show:
“I just needed to get away because it's stressful murdering every day. My Christmas card list is getting smaller and smaller.”
When Murs suggested he embrace his Traitor persona while visiting Universal Studios, getting a cape from Harry Potter World, Carr laughed and replied that he simply wanted to relax. Still, he joked about sliding down Volcano Bay’s famous water ride wearing the Traitors cape and holding a lantern.
Caught between fame and controversy, Alan Carr sought peace in Orlando while teasing about his villainous TV image ahead of the Celebrity Traitors finale.
