BATON ROUGE — Glenn Clifton Jr., better known by his stage name Young Bleed, was widely recognized for his song “How You Do Dat” and his connection with the rap label No Limit Records.
On October 25, Clifton performed at the Cash Money–No Limit Verzuz concert in Las Vegas. After the show, he went out with friends to celebrate and gave another performance. Later that evening, he suddenly collapsed.
According to his mother, Florida Allen, he suffered a brain aneurysm leading to cardiac arrest.
“Before they could get to him, he was out of oxygen for a while, and that’s when they told us that he had no life in the brain,” Allen said.
Clifton passed away on November 1 at the age of 51. He is survived by his mother and five children.
“Nobody ever expected him to, you know, not come home; he’s never not done that,” said his son, Ty’Gee Clifton.
The family shared that he had no major health problems aside from high blood pressure. Allen expressed peace with his passing, saying:
“I’m going to miss him. I’m not mad because he is gone; he left doing what he loved doing.”
Clifton began his rap career in Baton Rouge as part of the hip-hop collective Concentration Camp, which formed in 1995.
