Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Shares Borealis Refit Updates
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has provided new information regarding the refit and refurbishment of the Borealis, which is currently docked at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam. The 1,320-guest vessel arrived at the yard in late October for scheduled maintenance and upgrades, following plans announced last month.
Progress on Maintenance and Upgrades
“Our teams have been hard at work carrying out a wide range of upgrades and maintenance projects,” Fred. Olsen stated in a social media update.
The cruise line reports that work is advancing well and includes enhancements to both technical systems and guest areas.
Technical Improvements
- Borealis has been equipped with new lifeboat winches, enhancing its safety features.
Guest Area Renovations
- Owner Suites have been refreshed with maintenance and upkeep.
- The Fitness Centre now features new window frames.
- The Atlantis Spa’s wellness areas were updated with new tiling in the changing rooms and a new jacuzzi installed in the Thermal Suite.
- The Colours & Tastes specialty restaurant received a fresh look, including updated lighting and wallpaper.
New Additions
- Work continues on Fresco, a new open-air dining venue.
- A pediluvio feature is being added to the aft pool deck.
