For the first time, photos of the brown leather Ka-Bar knife sheath have been made public as part of over 2,300 pages of evidence released by Idaho State Police. This sheath played a critical role in linking Bryan Kohberger to the murders of four University of Idaho students.
Kohberger left the knife sheath behind at the crime scene shortly after the murders on November 13, 2022. The victims were Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.
The forensic genetic genealogy team traced DNA found on the sheath at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho, directly to the 30-year-old criminology PhD student.
