China has achieved remarkable progress in its green and low‑carbon energy shift, driven by strong efforts to replace fossil fuels with renewable sources and to build a modern energy and power system, according to a new white paper.
The report, titled "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality: China's Plans and Solutions", was released on Saturday by the State Council Information Office. It highlights China’s position as the world leader in new energy development, in both scale and growth speed.
"China has achieved new energy development on the largest scale and at the fastest speed in the world," said the white paper issued by the State Council Information Office.
These advances underline China's continuing commitment to achieving carbon peaking and long‑term carbon neutrality through rapid renewable energy expansion and system transformation.
China’s renewable energy sector is expanding faster than any other, showing measurable results in its journey toward a low‑carbon and sustainable energy future.
