Following a dominant road sweep over Ohio State, the No. 3 Penn State men's hockey team prepares for another high-stakes series, this time visiting Michigan State. The matchup promises an intense battle between two top-five programs in college hockey.
“Before we travel to East Lansing, we know it’s one of the toughest road environments in college hockey,” head coach Guy Gadowsky said during Monday’s media session.
Star forward Aiden Fink, a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award last season, suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday’s game against Ohio State and missed Friday’s matchup. His return is uncertain but tentatively expected around the Christmas period.
“He has an upper body injury,” Gadowsky said. “He will be out for the foreseeable future.”
Despite the setback, Gadowsky stated the Nittany Lions plan to continue with the same rotation used in Friday’s game while remaining ready to make adjustments if needed.
“It’s going to suck without him in the lineup, but we know guys are going to step up,” forward Gavin McKenna said. “It’s a big role to fill, and everyone will be working hard for it. I’m going to make sure I do my job.”
With Fink sidelined, Penn State will rely on its depth and collective spirit to navigate a challenging road series. The team’s confidence remains high as they continue to chase national success deep into the season.
