Timothée Chalamet Visited Michael Heizer’s ‘City’ for Vogue Photoshoot

Timothée Chalamet Visits Michael Heizer’s “City” for Vogue

Actor Timothée Chalamet traveled with photographer Annie Leibovitz to Michael Heizer’s monumental Land art installation City in Nevada for a Vogue profile. The site, a vast desert artwork stretching a mile and a half long and half a mile wide, opened in 2022 after more than fifty years of construction that began in 1970.

Chalamet reflected briefly on the experience, describing it as something distant and profound.

“It’s just a totally remote experience,”

While not offering detailed art commentary, Chalamet discussed several of his current projects, including Josh Safdie’s upcoming film Marty Supreme, where he portrays a once-promising table-tennis champion facing hard times.

Working with Annie Leibovitz

Chalamet also shared his admiration for Annie Leibovitz, who photographed him at City for the Vogue feature.

“Annie is an absolute beast,”

he said, emphasizing her tireless dedication to her craft.

“Sometimes when people become so ubiquitous or iconic, you can lose sight of how much effort goes in. She’s the first one up at 5:30 a.m. You’re coming downstairs, and she’s poring over materials.”

He described her relentless creative energy with awe:

“She almost had a crazy compulsive creative attitude. She wasn’t concerned with anything but getting great stuff, and then I’m sure she went on to the next thing.”

Author’s Summary
