Setting the Stage: Rams Prepare for UNLV Challenge

By Mike Brohard | November 7, 2025, 2:00 PM

The Colorado State Rams are fine-tuning their practice approach this week to ensure quicker starts as they prepare to face a high-powered UNLV offense. Defensive back Jake Jarmolowich emphasizes staying consistent and disciplined regardless of the opponent.

"I think it's like any other week, to be honest. I've said it a lot, it's going back to our 1/11s — if everyone does their jobs and we contain this quarterback and do what we're supposed to do, we're gonna be just fine," he said. "Any game, any opponent, you have to be as disciplined as possible. If you're not, you’re gonna overset a gap or go over the top when you should be inside. With this quarterback, it’s just something you have to keep in mind."

UNLV enters the matchup as the top-scoring offense in the Mountain West, averaging 36.9 points per game. Their lowest output of the season came in a 30-point victory over UCLA in early September, while their highest was a thrilling 51-48 win over Air Force. They also boast the conference’s second-best rushing attack with 193.4 yards per game and a 5.39 yards-per-carry mark.

Rams Focus on Consistency and Execution

For Colorado State, the emphasis remains on self-discipline and fundamental execution. The defensive unit aims to contain UNLV’s quarterback and maintain control across assignments to neutralize the Rebels’ diverse offensive threats.
