Mark Richt, who led the Georgia Bulldogs from 2001 to 2015, denied online rumors claiming he was hospitalized.
“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”
Richt, 65, experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. During his tenure at Georgia, he compiled a 145–51 record, securing two SEC championships and nine bowl victories. Afterward, he coached at his alma mater, Miami, from 2016 to 2018.
Mark Richt clarifies false hospitalization rumors, reflecting his ongoing health challenges and distinguished coaching career.
