Cebu Pacific receives A320neo plane ahead of holiday peak

Cebu Pacific Introduces First Airbus A320neo Ahead of Holiday Travel Peak

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft just before the busy holiday travel season. The new 180-seat plane with a next-generation engine arrived recently from Airbus' Toulouse, France facility.

Fleet Expansion and Deployment

This A320neo is the airline's first of its kind and marks their fourth aircraft delivery this year. Earlier, Cebu Pacific also received their third A330neo wide-body jet, which seats 459 passengers. However, these A330neos have been mostly utilized for domestic routes, including flights to Iloilo and Palawan, rather than long-haul journeys.

Fuel Efficiency and Environmental Benefits

The A320neo and A330neo belong to Airbus' Neo family, renowned for better fuel economy and quieter operation. These aircraft consume about 15% less fuel per flight and generate reduced noise compared to previous models.

“This latest delivery helps ensure we have enough capacity to serve passengers looking to fly home or discover new destinations this holiday season,” said Xander Lao, president and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific.
“We’re committed to making travel more accessible and convenient, especially during this time of year when more Filipinos take to the skies,” Lao added.

Flight Operations

Currently, 16 flights connecting Manila and Bohol will use the wider A320neo jet, enhancing passenger experience on these popular routes.

Summary: Cebu Pacific's new A320neo delivery boosts capacity and improves fuel efficiency, preparing the airline to better serve holiday travelers across the Philippines.
