Early November in the UK is marked by a notably mild spell, with temperatures significantly above the seasonal average.
The Met Office's latest 10-day forecast indicates that this calm and warm period will soon shift to more unsettled and changeable weather as the new working week begins. The current pattern is influenced by a highly wavy jet stream across the Atlantic Ocean.
This jet stream has created several dips and troughs, one notably extending toward the Iberian Peninsula. Over the coming days, this trough is expected to deepen further, anchoring low pressure to the south and moving it toward the UK by the weekend.
One of the standout aspects is the high temperatures for this time of year. On Thursday, highs are expected to reach the mid to high teens Celsius, with some places experiencing 15, 16, or even 17°C—around six to seven degrees above the typical late autumn average.
Bonfire Night 2025 was record-breaking. Temperatures overnight only dropped to 14°C.
The UK continues to enjoy warm temperatures above average, but an increasingly unsettled weather pattern driven by a shifting jet stream will bring more variable conditions soon.
