Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, early Wednesday after collapsing at his residence. The 61-year-old actor is currently under close medical observation, with doctors monitoring his condition carefully.
Govinda’s friend and legal advisor, Lalit Bindal, confirmed the incident to IANS. Initially, Govinda took medication following a telephonic consultation but was later rushed to the hospital around 1 a.m. due to unconsciousness.
“He became unconscious at home and was immediately taken to CritiCare Hospital. He is currently under observation,” said Bindal.
This hospitalization follows just a day after Govinda visited veteran actor Dharmendra, who is recovering at Breach Candy Hospital. Videos online show Govinda leaving the hospital with a serious expression.
This is Govinda’s second hospital visit in a year. Last October, he was treated at the same hospital after accidentally injuring his leg with a licensed revolver. The injury was below the knee, requiring a brief surgery to remove the bullet, and he was discharged after three days of full recovery.
Govinda recalled, “I was about to leave for a show in Kolkata when the revolver fell and went off. I was shocked to see the blood.”
Govinda remains under careful medical supervision following his collapse, with doctors actively monitoring his recovery at CritiCare Hospital.
