Actor Govinda, 61, was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after losing consciousness at his Mumbai home late Tuesday night. He was taken to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu and remains under observation.
"Govinda is currently under observation. He is sleeping after taking medicines. Doctors are expected to review his condition around 12 noon, after which further decisions will be taken. His medical tests are still going on," said his friend and lawyer Lalit Bindal to NDTV.
According to Lalit Bindal, the actor had received medication over a telephonic consultation before being transported to the hospital around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Govinda is undergoing several medical tests as part of his treatment plan.
The actor, known for films like Hero No. 1, Raja Babu, Bhagam Bhag, and Partner, had visited veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital just a day prior. Dharmendra, 89, was discharged from that hospital on Wednesday morning.
In October last year, Govinda suffered an accidental gunshot wound to his leg after misfiring his licensed revolver. He was treated at CritiCare Hospital, where he underwent an hour-long surgery to remove the bullet and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for recovery.
Veteran actor Govinda is recovering under medical care after fainting at home, while doctors continue tests to assess his health condition.
