On November 8 and 9, Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, held a two-day pop-up event at Shibuya 109, Tokyo, showcasing Filipino culture’s warmth and vibrancy to the Japanese audience.
“Japan is a key market for us, and we continue to see strong growth in travel between our countries,”
said Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer, during a Tokyo press conference. He added the campaign aims to encourage more Japanese tourists to explore the Philippines’ diverse destinations while offering affordable, enjoyable travel with Cebu Pacific.
According to CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero, the pop-up is part of the inbound tourism campaign titled “Fly to Your Happy Philippines,”
which inspires Japanese travelers to discover the country's world-famous islands and tourist spots.
CEB offers direct flights from Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka (Kansai), Sapporo, and Tokyo (Narita) to Cebu, Clark, and Manila, making it the largest Philippine carrier operating between Japan and the Philippines.
Summary: Cebu Pacific’s pop-up event in Tokyo effectively promotes Filipino culture and boosts Japanese tourism through immersive experiences and extensive flight options.
