Tasmanian servicewomen have been recognised with the dedication of a new memorial chair to replace a vandalised memorial at the Launceston Cenotaph Precinct.
"It's a tangible thing, so people can come and sit to reflect and remember what these service women did and still do for us,"
said Launceston RSL Sub-Branch Women's Auxiliary president Dianne Brzeski. The volunteer committee wanted to honour both past and present defence women for their service with something tangible.
"Their stories of sacrifice, determination, and camaraderie are woven into the fabric of Australia's history."
