A Milwaukee family's attorney has stated that an officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of 26-year-old Elijah Wilkes was justified.
Attorney B'Ivory LaMarr, representing Wilkes' family, made this statement after reviewing police body camera footage of the incident with the victim's mother, Pamela Bond Slater, during a meeting with Milwaukee Police Department officials.
The shooting occurred on Wednesday during a traffic altercation on Mill Road near Interstate 94.
"We will acknowledge that we do believe that this officer involved shooting was justified,"
said LaMarr during a press conference on Thursday.
