First Alert Weather: Windy, rainy early Sunday follows dry week

We will remain dry through the end of the work week with cool mornings and temperatures mainly in the 50s under a clear sky.

The Next 24 Hours

This afternoon, highs will return to the low and mid-80s with ample sunshine and a nice breeze out of the north-northwest at 5-15 mph.

The Next Big Thing

A cold front is expected to move through the southeast this weekend, bringing a good chance of rain late Saturday night into Sunday. The timing of the rain and storms will be monitored, but for now, it is expected to hold off until after the college football games end.

A big race weekend is planned at Talladega on Sunday, and while the rain and wind will be widespread early on Sunday morning, any lingering showers may impact the start of the race at 1 p.m.
