Coal miners, their supporters, and medical experts gathered in Washington to urge the Trump administration to enforce black lung protections.
Outside the Department of Labor, a crowd of 50 miners and supporters, some carrying oxygen machines, called on President Donald Trump to enforce silica regulations meant to take effect this spring.
"Right this minute there is some 35-year-old dying right now trying to get his breath," said United Mine Workers President Cecil E. "This is the worst form of death one can imagine. We put people in prison for life for murdering people with a pillow holding it over their face until they are dead.
