Girls Tennis: Osakis Sends Three to Class A State Individual Tournament
The Osakis girls tennis team will send three athletes to the Class A state individual tennis tournament.
Leah Maddock will represent the Silverstreaks in the singles bracket at state after claiming the Section 6A individual singles championship on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Rogers Tennis Club.
Maddock defeated Minnewaska Area’s Olivia Danielson in a straight-set sweep, winning the semifinal match 6-0, 6-0, and bested New London-Spicer’s Brooke Glauvitz to win the section title 6-0, 6-1.
Osakis doubles team of Bella Weisser and Ava Drevlow finished in second place in the section doubles bracket to qualify, as the top-two finishers in singles and the top-two teams in doubles advanced to the state individual tournament.
