VCUarts Cancels Fall Graduation Ceremony
VCUarts has announced that it will not be holding a Fall 2025 Commencement ceremony. Instead, August, December, and May graduates are invited to attend the department's spring celebration.
According to the VCUarts commencement page, fall graduates can still attend the university-wide commencement on Dec. 13. However, the only VCUarts-specific ceremony will be held on May 8.
Students reported that they were informed of the change by their professors, who cited budget constraints as the reason. The decision has prompted a petition from students pushing back against the cancellation.
Students were not directly notified by the department, but rather through their professors.
