The Man Who Skied Down Everest

Andrzej Bargiel, a seasoned mountaineer, shared his experience of climbing Mt Everest without oxygen and skiing down the mountain with Nepali Times.

What made skiing down Everest possible was all the years of experience I’ve gained in high-altitude mountains.

To prepare for such a feat, Bargiel trains by spending time in high-altitude mountains, skiing in steep terrain, climbing, running, biking, and working out in the gym. As an IFMGA mountain guide, he emphasizes the importance of being well-prepared for the demands of an expedition.

Bargiel's motivation to tackle Everest stemmed from his extensive experience in ski mountaineering and racing, making this his third attempt on the mountain.
