WTA Rankings Update: Winners and Losers at Wuhan Open
Aryna Sabalenka secured the year-end No 1 spot in the WTA Rankings despite missing out on a four-peat at the Wuhan Open.
Sabalenka held off competition from Iga Swiatek, while Coco Gauff improved her chances of becoming the American No 1. Sabalenka's streak of three consecutive titles (2018, 2019, and 2024) was ended by Jessica Pegula in the semi-final.
Sabalenka was always guaranteed to remain at the top of the rankings after the tournament.
