Warburtons Acquires Roberts Bakery Ilkeston Factory
Warburtons has confirmed the acquisition of the Roberts Bakery sourdough factory in Ilkeston through an administration deal.
This move will enable the company to meet growing demand and support its future growth, according to a spokesperson for Warburtons.
“To support the future growth of Warburtons, we have purchased the Roberts Bakery site in Ilkeston. This will provide us with further capacity to meet demand in a growing segment of the bakery market. We have enjoyed a positive relationship with the Roberts family for many years and wish them all the best for the future.”
The acquisition comes as Roberts Bakery's parent company, Frank Roberts & Sons Ltd, was saved from administration by Boparan Private Office, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan, securing over 400 jobs.
