A 34-year-old man from the Hamptons, Dennis Carrol, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for transporting approximately two kilograms of fentanyl into Hollis.
The fentanyl had an estimated street value of $80,000, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, who announced the sentencing on Wednesday.
Carrol was convicted by a jury in Queens Supreme Court on March 24 of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, following a four-week trial.
