Jack Smith, a 20-year-old outside-back, has joined York ahead of 2026 on a one-year deal after being released by Leeds Rhinos.
Smith began his career with Featherstone Lions and joined Leeds in 2020 at scholarship level. He never made a first-team appearance for Leeds but impressed in the age grades and on loan with London Broncos in 2025.
During his time with London Broncos, Smith scored five tries in 14 appearances, kicked 49 goals, and was awarded the Championship Young Player of the Year.
Smith was crowned the Championship Young Player of the Year earlier this month.
York head coach Mark Applegarth has confirmed the signing of Smith as the team prepares for 2026.
