Three in four doctors concerned about health impacts of climate change: physicians warn ‘the NHS is simply not prepared’

Climate Change Concerns Among Doctors

New data from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) reveals that three in four doctors (75.1%) are concerned about the health impacts of climate change on their patients.

A survey of RCP fellows and members found that only 16% of responding doctors felt their workplace was prepared for extreme weather events, such as heatwaves or flooding.

The NHS is simply not prepared

This finding comes as the Climate Change Committee warned the government to prepare for 'unprecedented' extreme weather events due to at least 2C of global warming by 2050.
