A US District Judge, Sara Ellis, has ordered federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to wear body cameras during enforcement activities and public interactions.
This order follows a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) issued by Judge Ellis last week, and will be in effect until November 6.
I live in Chicago if folks haven’t noticed. And I’m not blind.
Judge Ellis expressed doubts about ICE's compliance with the original TRO, citing news coverage of ICE actions that appeared to violate the order. The TRO prohibits ICE from using riot control weapons, including less-lethal shotguns and tear gas, against protestors and journalists unless necessary to prevent harm.
