Seizure of Poppy Seeds and Areca Nuts in Mizoram
Assam Rifles have seized 90 bags of poppy seeds and 120 bags of areca nuts, worth Rs one crore, in Mizoram, according to officials.
A defence spokesman reported that the search operation was conducted at Farlui road areas, Ruantlang, in Mizoram's border Champhai district, based on specific intelligence.
This significant recovery underscores the Assam Rifles’ zero-tolerance approach towards illicit activities in the region and its continued commitment to ensuring the law and order situation is maintained.
The seized items include:
- 90 bags of poppy seeds
- 120 bags of areca nuts (betel nuts)
