Farewell for SA Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa in KwaMbonambi
Preparations are complete for SA Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa’s official Category 2 funeral in Dondotha.
South Africa will bid farewell to its Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, today. The official state funeral is expected to start at 9am at the Siyabonga Sangweni Sports Complex in Dondotha.
The late ambassador died in Paris last week. His body was repatriated on Friday and taken to a mortuary in Empangeni before being transported to the Mthethwa homestead.
A cleansing ceremony was held outside the homestead, led by the Nazareth Baptist Church, before the remains were allowed to enter. A night vigil was also held, where relatives, friends, and community members gathered to pay their last respects.
