A young Kazakh confectioner, Sabina Tanatarova, is training at France's prestigious Le Cordon Bleu to redefine pastry in Kazakhstan.
Tanatarova, 20, spoke with The Astana Times about her journey, saying
"I think that during that time, many people discovered new hobbies for themselves while sitting at home and I was one of them."
She aims to bring her expertise back to Kazakhstan and advance the country's emerging pastry scene and community.
