Lesufi Urges Patience as Madlanga Commission Unfolds

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has urged patience regarding the early findings of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which is investigating alleged misconduct and corruption within the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the province.

Speaking to SABC News, Lesufi noted that the commission, tasked with delivering its report within 60 days, is still in its early stages, with key individuals yet to present their side of the story.

We all know everyone that is implicated, they must also go then clear their names and it is getting hot and interesting. So let's wait for others that have been implicated to present their side of the story. We are still on day nine or day eight probably.

The premier acknowledged growing public concern over allegations that cartels and criminal elements are operating within Gauteng’s police structures.
