CFMEU Corruption Investigation Disbanded

The CFMEU administrator, Mark Irving KC, sent two teams of corruption investigators away, despite their experience in uncovering graft in the union.

These teams were assembled to address serious misconduct allegations, but were swiftly disbanded, leaving the allegations untouched for months.

Irving was concerned that seeking more powers from the federal government could risk reviving calls for the coalition’s Australian Building and Construction Commission.
