Chinese and American officials have agreed on a "framework" for a trade deal, following two days of negotiations.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and top trade negotiator Li Chenggang in Malaysia.
"We are moving forward to the final details of the type of agreement that the leaders can review and decide if they want to conclude together,"
said Greer, according to The New York Times. Bessent noted that there is a "very successful framework" for President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss when they meet on Thursday in South Korea.
