Gauhati High Court Extends Interim Protection for Journalist Abhisar Sharma
The Gauhati High Court has extended interim protection for journalist Abhisar Sharma until November 17.
This decision is related to an FIR registered against Sharma for alleged remarks accusing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of pursuing communal politics.
A bench of Justice Shamima Jahan granted the extension as the state failed to produce the case diary as ordered by the HC on September 19.

- The FIR was registered under Sections 152, 196, and 197 of the BNS.
Sharma moved the HC after the Supreme Court refused to entertain his challenge to the FIR.
