The Philadelphia Flyers have returned 19-year-old Jett Luchanko to his junior team, Guelph of the OHL, to prioritize his development.
Due to limited NHL ice time and restrictions, the Flyers opted to send Luchanko back to juniors, where he can play more minutes and refine his game.
The Flyers were in a bit of a pickle with Luchanko, as the 19-year-old isn't allowed to play in the AHL, making it either the Flyers or his junior team.
The team is focused on winning now, and with an abundance of centers ahead of him, there wasn't a spot for Luchanko in the top nine.
The Flyers had initially wanted to give Luchanko an opportunity to earn a spot, but ultimately decided to prioritize his development.
