Companies like Waymo and Zoox are already testing robotaxis in San Francisco, and Uber will soon join them through partnerships with Lucid and Nuro.
"I think we should be the testbed for emerging technology and AI and healthcare tech — and all of it,"
Lurie said, emphasizing his commitment to innovation. He praised Waymo's success in the Bay Area and welcomed other companies to follow.
Lurie also stressed that safety is a top priority, noting that autonomous vehicles are regulated at the state level.
