Optical Vendor Ribbon Suffers Cybersecurity Incident

Ribbon Communications, an optical system vendor, recently fell victim to a cybersecurity incident.
Unauthorized persons, reportedly associated with a nation-state actor, believed to be a reference to China, hacked into Ribbon's IT systems.
The hackers were able to sit quietly in Ribbon's systems for almost a year, according to the company's 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The incident was disclosed under the sub-heading "Cybersecurity Incident Disclosure" on page 57 of the 10-Q filing.
