Westport Power to Victory Over Ballyhaunis in Mayo Rugby Derby

Connacht Rugby Junior 1B League saw Westport dominate Ballyhaunis, running in five tries and limiting the visitors to only one score.

A dominant second half ensured the 'Bulls' got off to a flying start. Centre Harry Sheridan was almost unstoppable, earning him the man-of-the-match title, particularly thanks to a masterpiece of a try in the first half.

Sheridan ran a perfect line and galloped through the Ballyhaunis defensive line, then danced around the last defenders to touch down between the posts.

Westport clearly won the kicking game, with fly-half Stephen Loftus booting the ball deep into opposition territory whenever he spotted space. Ballyhaunis had hoped for a better outcome, having impressed so far this season, reaching the Curley Cup final and winning their first league match last week against Corinthians 3XV.

Author's summary: Westport dominates Ballyhaunis in rugby derby.
