Richard Beardshaw, Head of Sales, Mortgage Intermediaries at HSBC UK, began his career in financial services after a junior marketing role. He temped with Barclays Mortgages through Manpower, a recruitment agency.
Having an effective and supportive manager is far more important than a £5K pay rise
Beardshaw landed his first real job in financial services in 1996, running the mortgage desk for Scottish Life Home Loans. He met industry legends Pete Beaumont and Guy Batchelor, who worked in sales development roles.
