Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will lead the two groups at the ATP Finals, but uncertainty still surrounds the event lineup. Despite being included in the draw as the No. 4 seed, Novak Djokovic has not yet confirmed his participation.
The Serbian champion is currently competing in the ATP 250 tournament in Athens. He has stated that he will decide on joining the season-ending championships after completing his campaign in Greece.
“I’ll make a final decision on my participation after the tournament in Athens,” Djokovic noted earlier this week.
Djokovic was drawn into the Jimmy Connors Group alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.
The final slot in the ATP Finals lineup has not yet been confirmed. Felix Auger-Aliassime currently holds the position, but Lorenzo Musetti could overtake him by winning the Athens title on Saturday.
“We are waiting on the identity of our eighth player,” said ATP Tour supervisor Gerry Armstrong. “If Musetti wins in Athens, he qualifies. Anything less and the position goes to Felix Auger-Aliassime.”
The draw took place in Turin on Thursday, marking the start of anticipation for the year-ending championship event.
Djokovic remains undecided on ATP Finals participation while Musetti and Auger-Aliassime battle for the last qualifying spot.
