Rick Stein's New Restaurant at InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach

Travel Weekly recently previewed Rick Stein’s new dining venue at the soon-to-open InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, which features a bleached Mediterranean beach atmosphere. The hotel will boast 198 rooms, and the restaurant is a highlight of the property.

Dining Spaces and Design

The restaurant accommodates 224 guests across three distinctive areas:

The interior offers cozy indoor seating, including a 10-seat chef’s table and two 12-seat banquette sections. The walls feature two prominent artworks: an arrow squid and a school of fish, enhancing the ocean-inspired theme.

Sass’s Bar

Named after Stein’s Australian public relations partner, Sarah, Sass’s Bar occupies the former karaoke bar space of the previous Crowne Plaza hotel.

Opening and Booking Details

Rick Stein is expected to personally arrive on December 20, following a soft opening serving just 80 guests. The booking site saw over 3,500 visitors immediately after opening.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with dinner service only from Monday to Thursday.

“Sydney’s Coogee Beach is the perfect location for our flagship Australian restaurant,” Rick Stein said. “It’s relaxed yet sophisticated, with that incredible connection to the ocean that has always inspired my cooking. For us, this feels like coming home.”
