The Boston Bruins (9-7-0) edged out the Ottawa Senators (6-5-3) with a 3-2 overtime victory on Thursday night. Morgan Geekie, Sean Kuraly, and Pavel Zacha scored for Boston, while Michael Amadio and Claude Giroux netted goals for Ottawa.
Despite being outshot 9-2, Ottawa led after the opening twenty minutes. Shane Pinto set up Amadio on a 2-on-1 rush, and Amadio snapped a quick shot past Joonas Korpisalo’s glove.
Boston equalized just 82 seconds into the frame. Andrew Peeke fired from the blue line, and Geekie pushed in the rebound for his 10th goal of the season. Later, Kuraly put the Bruins ahead 2-1 with a wrist shot from the low slot that deflected off Ullmark’s shoulder and found the net. The play developed after the Senators overcommitted to Tanner Jeannot, leaving Kuraly open in front.
At 11:52, Giroux leveled the game with a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle that slipped through Korpisalo and rolled across the goal line.
After a tense back-and-forth overtime, Zacha capitalized on a loose puck with under six seconds remaining to clinch the Bruins’ win. The Bruins outshot Ottawa 25-22. Neither team converted on the power play — Boston went 0-for-3, while Ottawa went 0-for-2.
Korpisalo finished with 20 saves.
