Nine’s chief AFL reporter Tom Morris has been recruited by Seven after two years with Nine. The Herald Sun reported that Morris informed Nine on Friday morning about his decision following a lucrative offer from Seven’s head of sport Chris Jones and SEN boss Craig Hutchison.
Morris’ passion for both football and cricket reportedly influenced his move, as Seven broadcasts both sports. This switch is part of a trend over the past 18 months where several AFL talents, including Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson, and Craig Hutchison, have departed Nine.
Morris’ contract with Nine officially expires on December 31.
