Chicago weather: Models hint at possible snowfall this weekend

Chicago Weather Forecast: Chance of Snow This Weekend

Mild fall weather will persist through Friday before a weather system may bring the season’s first mix of rain and snow in the Chicago area this weekend. FOX 32's Mike Caplan provides the latest outlook.

Short-Term Outlook

Today will be mostly sunny despite a passing cold front, accompanied by windy conditions. High temperatures will range from the low to mid 50s in northern counties to the low 60s in southern counties. Tonight will be clear and chilly, with lows in the 30s.

Tomorrow starts with some clouds, becoming cloudier by late afternoon, and highs reaching the upper 50s. After midnight, a few showers are expected, though rainfall amounts will be light.

On Friday, after morning showers move out, the day will bring sunshine and mild temperatures, with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Weekend Weather and Potential Snow

"There will be much discussion in coming days over what exactly falls from the sky Saturday night and or Sunday night into Monday morning."

Forecasters will continue to monitor how the system develops and whether snow accumulations become more likely.
